Only heard of this on local clients. Server level
I wouldn't think this is "Fslogix" but more around something in windows. Does it do it on other files from other profile on the user container. When u say "from the user container" is this why the user container is mounted? Or behind the scenes?
f
Same issue on other users containers, no issue when deleting a file from local drive or local profiles. User logged on trying to delete a file in AppData/Roaming for example.
r
Ok so when the profile is mounted then. So you can delete files here C:\Users\local_username and not here C:\Users\lusername. Or u cant in both?
When i mean local i am referring to the local lazy deleted side of fslogix. Not local profile outside of fslogix
f
Delete works in local_username, throw the error in username folder Shift-Delete works in both
b
Shift-Delete bypasses the recycle bin, so it sounds like they don't have permissions to move a file into the bin. Check to see if the user has modify rights to their recycle.bin file at the root of the profile. If permissions need to be reset on the recycle bin, take the profile offline, mount the disk, and delete the file. (Assuming profile disk is mounted to o:\)
gci 'O:\$recycle.bin' -Hidden
rmdir 'O:\$recycle.bin' -Recurse -Force
Remove the drive letter and dismount the profile disk. When the user logs in next, windows explorer will recreate the recycle.bin object with default permissions.
f
No $RECYCLE.BIN folder when mounting profile disk, no such folder at the root of the profile
Taking profile online, was able to delete the $RECYCLE.BIN folder in admin context on the server (assigning a drive letter to the Profile) but I'm getting the same error message...
b
For FSLogix after you mount the disk, there is a "Profile" folder, inside that folder should be a file called "$Recycle.bin", on a microsoft UPD is it at the root of the disk, my bad.
Run a chkdsk on the mounted volume to see if it is healthy
f
Volume is healthy, support case opened. Thank you very much for these suggestions !
