Not really. I have a bunch of these too.
d
ok here is another one... the user logs off, but the profile remains attached.
r
i've seen that for sure, but it's generally just a fluke. What version are you running?
d
2.9.7205.27375
t
We see this occasionally - How long after the log off does the profile stay attached? For us, it was up to several minutes. We put a setting in (via reg key) to prevent log on if profile VHDX is locked. That seems to have fixed most of our problems.
d
seems like forever... ill see suspended .exe's running as the user, and even when i try stopping them as system (using psexec -s -i) i get access denied
is 2.9.7237.48865 the latest version?
r
Yes, that 7205 release is a travesty, get that shit out of your enviornment
2.9.7237.48865 is the latest version that i'm aware of
d
I am running the latest version now, but this problem is still happening. A user will logoff and the profile will not detach. It is pretty rare, but it is affecting 2 users right now.
r
Logs tell you anything useful?
m
@Tim Riegler Which settings is that?
t
We still have that problem too - we have a script we run against our profile servers to close all open SMB sessions for the affected user, then we hide their session from Director, and they can log in again (on XA, so this works).
The setting is a set of registry keys we deploy with GPO (GPP). Borrowed from someone in this slack workspace (possibly David6277?): Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key path Software\FSLogix\Profiles Value name FSLogixShellPath Value type REG_SZ Value data C:\Program Files\FSLogix\Apps\frxshell.exe Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key path Software\FSLogix\Profiles Value name ShellDisplayText Value type REG_SZ Value data Your profile failed to attach to this session. Hit OK to log off, and try logging on again. If you continue to receive this message please contact the Help Desk. Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Key path Software\FSLogix\Profiles Value name ShellTitleText Value type REG_SZ Value data Profile Attach Error

following, we just put this in stage and not had any issues
d
It ended up being the system managed page file
to elaborate - 2016 servers hosted shared desktops (PVS). the page file was set to system managed size. when the page file would reach 5119MB performance would super suck, and it would fail to detach profiles. there was a message in the fslogix event log about the page file. i set it to 2048 to 15360, and havent had the problem since.
