can you help me a little bit ?
how to setup the redirection
s
redirection?
a
if i understand well i have to redirect the outlook profile to the user profile container
in case of an OST file it does this automatically to the office 365 container
with PST files ?
s
You are using Profile Container?
a
yes
s
I used Citrix UPM + Office Container for Outlook Search Indexing.
a
ok different setup
s
Yup
a
thanks 😉
s
What challenge you facing in redirection?
a
first time configure it with FSLOGIX and i want to know if it needs something special with rules etc
s
The redirections.xml file is used to control what folders are redirected out of the profile container to the C: drive
a
thanks 😉

You don’t need any special setup. Fslogix will by default put everything into the container outside of some basic exclusions. PST files simply need to live in the user profile, which is held in the container - nothing special, the biggest challenge is copying them in if they currently live somewhere else - but @Aaron Parker has some scripts which help

Hello james , yes you are right i have just test it
I have only issues with the search of the pop accounts
with exchange online accounts the search database seems to work and transferred in the office 365 container
so it works just fine
for some reason pop3 search not working
it seems that a lot of people have problems with server 2019 and search

If O365 is working though you may have a different issue. Potentially outlook related. Check your FSLogix logs, it'll tell you if search redirected successfully or not.
a
thanks for the info. Im reverting to Server 2016 . Im seeing a lot of people has issues with 2019 search and also i have problems
b
if you are on 2019 I think you are suppose to not enable search roaming in the GPO. Is this your configuration?
a
i have tried both
disable and enable
the problem is that in 2019 , it creates a database for every user which is mounted and dismounted every time user log on / log off
so , a lot of times it failed to dismounted
when it reaches some failed to dismount databases , the indexing stops working
some times also the failed dismount corrupts the indexing database of the user
it is buggy

Open a ticket with support.

You all saw @James Kindon post right?
a
Yes . And that is why i dont want to mess with the support
