yeah I have used this for local profiles, but had some issues with roaming profiles. not sure if anyone had success with it that way
d
Change the old profile path to your roaming Profile path doesn’t work ?
What was the problem ?
j
it was permissions and the vhd would just blow up to a huge size
I can give it another shot though if everyone else has had success
d
Hmmm I test it tomorrow in my test lab again😇
j
ok ill try it again too
im in a different environment now than when I tried before, so Ill try it again
thanks
m
I've tried it and run into permissions errors as well, it wouldn't set the vhd to be owned by the user.
it did everything else though, created it and populated it, and if I manually changed permissions it would load
r
@David Ott You could probably fix it faster than me... Can you take a look sometime?
j
yeah the issue I have is that I am trying to migrate roaming profiles so the path is different than a local user profile. instead of \\server\share\%username%\blah_blah_Data its \\server\share\%username\v6\blah_blah_data
so when adapting this using the local profile script, it doesnt want to work because its looking for c:\users\%username%\blah_blah_data
not sure if that all makes sense but id like it to be aware of that v6 subdirectory
m
http://www.citrixirc.com/?p=857#comment-59819 have a look at the way his script splits the path
also under the new profile path you could hard code the v6 if you wanted
j
There is an official microsoft one you can opt into test - think the link is on christiaans site - will try and find later fit you
j
yeah i tried that link, but its "closed" from what I saw
if you can get your hands on it and post it thatd be amazing
j
Let me see if I can get the ok to share
j
nice
m
I have some powershell adapted from that comment that will copy stuff out from a specified subdirectory under the userid
j
sweet. ill give that a shot. thanks!
worked like a charm. Thanks @Mike Streetz (O_P)

@David Ott is MIA i guess. Glad you guys got this going...
j
yep, just used the UPM script and modified to suit the V6 roaming profile location
d
Sorry, was out of the country

My original UPM to FSLogix script probably would have worked without much manipulation being that UPM profiles are roaming profiles
