@Eric

I have a script that exports published apps, not desktops
l
For re-import?
k
Same script 😉
Exports to CSV files and then imports based on the info in the CSV files. And much to my surprise, it's Cloud-ready, so it also works with a setup in Citrix Cloud.
l
All good , desktop additions should be easy
k
Will put in in my Github repo at some point, but here it is:
One script to migrate AdminFolders, if used and another script to migrate published apps, icons and users
Csv can be very painful - xml is way more flexible - whole framework above should help out (works with cloud too)
k
Agree. The initial script, which I have built on, used CSVs so it was easier, for me at least, to go with CSVs
I'll take a look at your scripts, thanks James

I tried and failed over and over with multi value stuff, hurt my soul trying to sort it - with the xml output it handles it all smoothly - many paths I guess
k
Yeah, the script was initially created by a former colleague of mine, I'm not sure how much time he spent on it and if he hurt his soul as well 😄
With that said. Citrix should come up with a proper tool it would ease the migration to Citrix Cloud

The bonus with XML is multiple depth and the variable types too. That really does help. It's essentially a native object in powershell. Same with JSON too btw.
j
they had the old migration tool, which pretty much did an export and import - i think there are a load of different hacks and cracks out there - if you find broken stuff with mine - feel free to flag or fix 🙂
k
Sure thing James, thanks
