thats the job of the identity disks and the creation of them. so something is very broken.

its a stinker alright. It is caused by switching the master image from MAK to KMS. Logged with citrix support. waiting for an update.

uninstalling/reinstalling VDA correct it?

currently trying that and hitting the error described in CTX233595🤯. The solution isnt applicable though.

tried that aswell. the uninstall and vda cleanup work great. Failing on re-install. Quicker to spin up another test image at this stage than troubleshoot why the VDA install is failing.

VDA hasn’t changed though - you’ve just changed licence key in your master and updated the catalogue yeah? Sounds like new machine catalogue coming up!

Correct. Thought it might be something in the MCs prov scheme so created new catalog using same snapshot. No change. Can toggle between working and non working by pointing to Mak or kms snapshot. New master image which will only ever know kms is in the works.

That is messed-up. BTW are you using AD activation? Gets rid of the minimum count requirement that KMS server has.

Not using AD activation. It looks pretty simple? New master image built like for like with only kms activation working fine now.
