Is the user allowed to log on (i.e. are they in the Remote Desktop Users or Direct Access users groups)?
Are they allowed to use launch a desktop and use the delivery group?
a
its my account actually so i should be a local admin
j
Do they have a valid license?
etc.
a
i can log into other machines ok for reference
j
"Deny" is a pretty generic error sadly
Can you log on thru RDP?
Is the machine in maintenance, can it contact the DDC. etc.
a
alright even weirder.....i logged in w/ my domain creds on the console of that persistent vm ...rebooted and NOW I can get in via Citrix. I'm gonna spin up another vm in that catalog and try again
j
Probably just some generic weirdness then. I randomly see RDP fail to start listening properly on some targets, Citrix thinks the machine is OK but no connection can be made. Reboot usually fixes
a
this was reboot #7 actually lol. and 3rd fresh machine catalog / delivery group i tried even . this was just the first time i tried logging in via console first
super weird now a newly spun up desktop logged right in. one of those days i tell ya!

Got that right! Weird thing but only on a very new image I made but pretty bare bones so far. Console, rdp worked fine but ica super temperamental
setup another new catalog and same thing. i'm 0 for 10 trying to get into a desktop it seems for some reason. same image that eventually worked last time
#12 was the charm. and my test account went in the first time. well that doesnt give me the confident warm and fuzzy feeling going into a new environment 🙂
alright so it seems like its only when going through the netscaler...if i go directly to SF it lets me right in. I did remember that we changed my login UPN last week (starting it for the whole company...long story). Odd thing is i can get into my non persistent/app layering environment through the netscaler w/out an issue so not sure what is going on
j
One for the ADC channel then....
