well we'd have to establish as a non-profit with the government, file our 990 form and maybe some other crap. There are also some fees. If we don't file the 990 each year then we lose our status. Once we have status, we get a special taxID that is used when setting up non-profit discounts with vendors like slack, MS, etc...
