At Syngery, Citrix said the "next Teams release after June" will have the optimizations built in, if that's what you're referring to.

Probably Q3 2019, with the first hotfix released a week or two later...

Same here. We're moving to Teams, albeit slowly. Things have to change in terms of the sheer size of the data, though.

You can get it now but you have to commit to a lot of microsoft testing stuff and probably an NDA, just not worth the hassle.

Yeah, I dont think I have the capacity right now for anything more. My blog site is being neglected too.
