There’s no fighting $$$ or € € €. Citrix just didn’t get the value out of the investement.

Do you really agree to “vanish” Citrix Synergy Europe? I’m not. In the same time VMware didn’t stop with VMWorld Barcelona

I’m not saying I agree, I’m saying I understand if the marketing spend doesn’t return direct business. Which is the main reason for those events..

it's dollars and sense. vmw is 3x the size of citrix in revenue i think, $3B vs $9B or so

OK - but I don't understand something. Citrix Synergy is not a free event. We as clients pay - maybe some clients get free admission tickets? Such an event is an investment and helps to strengthen the brand.

Yep probably wasn’t worth cost vs the return they get.

Everyone focuses on the costs in this conversation - almost every company has a budget for promotions and I can not imagine that the main goal for Citrix was to earn money on Citrix Synergy evnet .. In my opinion, the organization Citrix Synergy is a lot of work and Citrix got rid of a whole series organizational work.

They’ve on boarded the CUGCs since then so I don’t think it’s laziness as those are even more time consuming.

We should do a joint European super-CUGC event over a couple of days

We’ve had talks about that, the Dutch team is game

All the larger EMEA groups are independent from the cugc @Tobias Kreidl
