I ran into this same issue. I couldn't get dotnet installed. It's been a while back, but I couldn't get it to honor the proxy settings no matter where I set them. I'm assuming that was my issue. It just wouldn't download that package from Microsoft's repository
c
I installed it a couple weeks ago on latest CR and didn't have an issue. used the info from https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/install/linux-ubuntu
also a heads up - make sure your local Ubuntu user doesn't have the same name as an AD account otherwise that user won't be able to launch a session.

@Josh Jordan I am able to download the package from microsoft.. no issue there. @CTXMike Thats the problem. All these latest articles refer to dotnet 5.0. Citrix documentation says install 3.1. In one of the discussion forums, a citrix employee says install 2.1. Nothing has resolved the issue so far. Also, I have installed dotnet 2.1. Post installation, dotnet --list-sdks output shows as 2.1.814 [/usr/share/dotnet/sdk] while exporting dotnet runtime path, I used both /usr/share and /usr/share/dotnet.  export CTX_XDL_DOTNET_RUNTIME_PATH='/usr/share/dotnet' and  export CTX_XDL_DOTNET_RUNTIME_PATH='/usr/share'   It doesnt work in both cases. I have different user ids on local ubuntu user and AD account, but thats step 2 may be. I am struggling with step 1 itself.

"sudo apt install dotnet-runtime-3.1" is what I used on my 20.04 server with vda 2012
c
I've tried it as well initially. It didnt work, so i searched on citrix discussions and got 2.1. wget https://packages.microsoft.com/config/ubuntu/20.04/packages-microsoft-prod.deb sudo dpkg -i packages-microsoft-prod.deb Sudo apt update sudo apt install dotnet-sdk-2.1 sudo apt install dotnet-runtime-2.1 Can you confirm the runtime path that you used before configuring vda?
c
I just hit enter to accept the default which I believe is /usr/bin
c
Yeah default is /usr/bin.. let me go with defaults.. so far I using the automated way, which is exporting the commands. Let me try with manual way and use defaults.
Holy cow!! it worked. I've removed the configuration. Executed ctxsetup.sh manually and entered only ddc names. Other than that, I've used defaults for everything. Thanks a ton @CTXMike
c
Nice, glad it worked!
