When you turn maintenance mode on, the restart schedule is not applied on the server/VDI. Mainly, if you put it in maintenance mode, it's to find the root cause of an issue an avoid to lose everything after a restart (for non-persistent machines). I think this is why it is implemented that way and thus, it is by design. In your case, I would implement a timeout for the sessions and/or a script to drain users from a machine in maintenance mode.

Thank you, I see that
m
there’s an option in the latest version to reboot anyway

I still dont get how to have empty servers after restart. I understand the idea behind this, but from admin point of view its really "stupid" how citrix desinged. Any idea?

What do you want to achieve exactly? Restart the servers in Maintenance Mode? How do you treat the sessions opened on these servers ? Logout, don’t care and force restart anyway?
m
why do the servers need to be empty, I’m not sure what you’re trying to do
a
There were two situations: Half of the servers should be shut down to do changes on vm level of course without users notice anything. Other one: from 20, 10 servers should be turned off and decommissioned, still the same, without user impact
s
What is the frequency for the shutdown?
m
I feel like I’m missing something, why do you need to schedule a reboot for machines you are shutting down?
for both those scenarios you can have them in maint mode and then just log everyone off over the weekend and shut them down
