You created a list some time ago, about the differences. You can add this then to it. :)

can you install vmware horizon helpdesk agent maybe you can collect some metrics centrally

You really need to know in what mode both protocols are operating - citrix has some very low bandwidth modes with thinwire and blast has a hungry H.264 one - plus some modes expand to consume bandwidth if available... maybe use https://rdanalyzer.com/downloads/ ? Citrix does a lot of caching (so scrolling free) - 3x does fit with some figures (alibi citrix ones) released a while ago https://www.citrix.com/blogs/2017/09/25/image-quality-comparison-local-vs-hdx-vs-blast/ (figures toward bottom 70 vs 22)

we've moved a lot of our remote users to Blast as they were on pcoip by mistake

We are using blast and everything already tuned and optimized πŸ˜–πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
Citrix blog about image quality comparison hdx vs blast in my opinion it’s not true anymore. I did comparison wit Citrix pre-sales guy and we were not able to confirm findings from Citrix blog πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

@Arthur I think the default in Blast is 420 H264 but it isn't the default in HDX - that article is showing fundamental H.264 420 artefacts - if you didn't see them it's because the Blast must have been changed to another mode or the 420 bumped up to 444. The article has HDX not in 420 mode - but if you put HDX into 420 it would show the same https://virtuallyvisual.wordpress.com/2015/07/26/hdx-and-h-264-artefacts-in-citrix-xendesktopxenapp/ - what must be different is Blast not in 420 if you don't see those artefacts whereas it definitely is in the article. But without knowing the settings using RDAnalyzer or similar hard to give a fuller answer

https://flings.vmware.com/horizon-helpdesk-utility I would install this from here you can view a session and see the breakdown of the blast protocol and you can see the transfer rate in real time

As someone who just completed the required training course to sit the VMware Horizon VCP, I find this post/thread somewhat disappointing πŸ˜‚
