You can write the script and then call the application. Then put it somewhere like C:\Apps and put a shotcut on the users desktop or whatever you are using that will actually launch the script. I assume once its installed locally it will looks for a UNC path to register the DDLs and OCX files. You can script all that as they hit the app

Is the UNC unique within that section of the registry? Are there any other places where the UNC is set in the registry? I'm wondering if you could write a quick and dirty powershell script to iterate through a particular hive or key and just do a replace.
c
Yeah i'm thinking quick and dirty to iterate through and find the \\SERVERNAME bit and just replace with Drive Letter.. its such a badly written app that half the DLLS use drive letter and the other half this nonsense.

Isolate, isolate, isolate! Apps like this belongs to App-V, the fact it's registering libraries using UNC is probably just the top of an iceberg

Yeah, I wish I could isolate!, i'm in between a rock and a hard place though. There are going to be 150 of these servers. I might have 150 AppStacks soon 😪😪
