Nope - you need to use RDSH policies OR you can use advanced Autoscale policies Instead - blog post coming on this one
j
So RDSH policies work on MU? Despite it being non-RDSH? (Tell me more on the Autoscale stuff, DM me if you wanna keep it under wraps)
j
Yes they do - Citrix policies still only apply to single session OS, Win10 MU still plays by RDSH policies - nothing too fancy on the Autoscale stuff, if you are using Citrix cloud, you can configure session timeouts based on peak and off peak times to give some more flexibility - it’s in the Autoscale advanced options on the DG :-)

With regards to RDSH policies, have you ever tried setting the Registry key rather than using the policy to allow a custom timeout setting? Customer wants 90 mins and it isn't an option in the ADMX file
j
Ah I don’t think they abide by non default values (admittedly haven’t tried) - From memory even nerdio abides by the rules when writing those keys - there is always one customer that has to be a PITA
j
Will give it a whirl

It works 🙂
So if I want 90 mins option for Session Disconnection Timeout (for example), just use GPP Registry to set HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\MaxDisconnectionTime to a DWORD (decimal) value of 5,400,000 (milliseconds in the required timeout)

That’s some more fuel to an otherwise dull blog post
