since your going XD, xenserver is a free option as well and not a bad option for pure XD as well. i have a friend as Siemens who runs their XD clusters and they went with xenserver, obviously massive massive scale

OK, we are running that today. But the company wants to move to HCI solution.

*disclaimer: I work for Nutanix as director for EUC (engineering)

Maybe you know some good comparison blogs๐Ÿ˜Š

If you want ultimate flexibility Nutanix would be your choice: broker/platform/hypervisor.
Also, data locality that's the default with AOS makes MCS shine and PVS perform like crazy so either why you've got a platform that will scale immensely
Simplicity has always been key for all our engineering teams are doing
e
Read all about that.. And it looks like the way to go.. But if I can't come up with the pros and cons.. It's difficult to change some minds.
k
If you want to drop me an email at first name at Nutanix dot com, I can put you in touch with a field team that can provide you exactly that?
Instead of hearing from me, maybe @Dave Brett or @dready can give their opinions
d
Iโ€˜m super happy with Nutanix, we run everything on AHV. It takes so much of the complexity out of the whole Citrix stack and gives us time to focus on other tasks.
e
@dready: thanks for the answer
d
Likewise. We run our entire platform on AHV. Makes life super easy for us and keeps the users happy as it performs like a beast!!
e
@Dave Brett So you have moved away from all other hypervisors. Or is it just EUC you are running on AHV?
d
we run the Citrix platform on AHV currently including all the supporting infrastructure as well as some of the critical AD and Authentication services. more and more is being moved over all the time ๐Ÿ™‚
e
Ok, but which team does what? One for the Citrix platform and one for all det other?
d
yes - the infra team run the non citrix clusters
