I have an integration for Edge Webview in my latest evergreen CWA script.
If the client doesn't have internet access or there is a proxy issue CWA doesn't install silently because Edge Webview is loaded from the web during install.
s
yes i have seen it πŸ™‚ but you are currently manually downloading it and putting it to the deployment share? correct?
d
No with Evergreen
d
The newest version of evergreen script will support this 🀘🏽🀘🏽🀘🏽but I make so much changes at this version, that I need 1-2 days more to release this. You can check this in my developer path πŸ˜…
d
If you select to download or install the CWA Webview will be downloaded and installed automatically
100 % @Deyda ! So many changes all the time… but it's worth it.
s
I am interested about how to tackle the situation where the machine does not have internet access. I am exactly in such situation to build my golden image! And for now, I stick to keep CWA LTSR.
n
I'm letting CWA handle the install for now. We have another app that will be utilizing WebView2 in the future, so I may change my mind later.
d
You could check with invoke-webrequest
Iβ€˜m going to implement this in my next version. For now I download the latest release and install it before installing CWA

Thank you all
last one q: was it not somewhere announced that Runtime will be installed with Office 365 Apps or Microsoft Edge?
d
As far as I know Runtime gets installed with Edge πŸ€”
n
I don't think that's the case, unless I'm missing it. In my last two Edge installs (last v93 and first v94 builds), WebView2 did not appear to be installed. Not until I installed CWA, at least.
d
🀘🏽 true
n
Which is kind of funny, given that it would actually make sense to have WebView2 installed with Edge.
d
Here... you can play around with. Just rewrite the manual and then that will be released. WebView2Runtime is included. https://github.com/Deyda/Evergreen-Script/tree/developer
