@Leee Jeffries DId the same thing for one of his labs. I think it's slick, It would be perfect for a Lab or a small business that travels. When I say small, I mean couple people lol.

Wood is certainly not the material I'd use for portable hardware.

I've heard tell of Facebook replacing data center kit with stuff in wood boxes before
r
Kind of in the kind of way you buy a novelty wooden keyring in the shape of an Eiffel tower on holiday in Paris for your Grandma.... wouldn't folks think you were really odd travelling with that?
n
Something tells me that the nerd walking around with that doesn't need accessories for others to tell that they're a nerd...
🙂
r
If it was at a reasonable price, I would buy it.
n
See?
r
It's kind of etsy does datacenter... what next cross-stitched mousemats...
Can't see it standing up well to the KLM baggage handlers slamming it around Schiphol hold luggage

Ha ha, I put a lab in a suitcase. One day I thought it would be great for demos and would stop be lugging around cables and gear in a bag. https://www.leeejeffries.com/lab-in-a-suitcase/ (FYI - its not long a plug to a plug for the power, at the time it seemed sensible. It wasn't.)

Now that's cool.
Minus your weird Euro receptacle, of course...
j
That's a British plug

None of that two-prong European shite

n
That's what I said
Two prong? We have grounded outlets here, sir.
l
Ha ha, Its now a proper C13 lead on the other end and all the fans have grills over them.
I've added shared storage using an RPI4 with an NVME drive attached.
Just because I could really.
r
I have to say @James Rankin raises a good point that British plugs are vastly superior to European and US ones 😉
n
British, European... I've heard it both ways
l
Yeah, they are better. No pulling out the wall easily .
s
@Rachel Berry Infinitely better than Aussie plugs as well. Was appalled when I first moved here, bought a router with the PSU in the plug. Only 2 pins. It actually fell out of the socket under its own weight.
