Maybe reach out to Microsoft's accessibility teams - assuming using windows - Hector Minto their accessibility evangelist has always been very helpful https://www.linkedin.com/in/hectorminto/ and they have a bunch of features designed for adults and also young people with additional learning challenges... it may well be a scenario they have been asked about before.

Unfortunately they are using combination of Zoom and Google Class 🥺.

So just need a browser? Perhaps use a device without a keyboard/mouse at all e.g. a playstation/xbox? or a firestick/smart TV?

Keyboard and mouse need to be contacted by adult and access need to be granted / approved by adult. Yes - keyboard and mouse are still needed but only with adult approval. Keep in mind: it's special needs child. 😞

If the OS is windows may be worth asking Microsoft?

@Arthur, Would I be correct if I stated that the wishes are simply that you can enable/disable input (M&KB) based on a simple prompt from your pc? Are the computers in the same lan? I don't know how fast you need it, but I am willing to give it a try in python to see if I can concoct something with Sockets. At the moment i'm very busy though, so I'm not entirely sure how fast I would be able to create something.

Chromebook with screentime would do the trick... Used this on my kids phones when they were younger. https://screentimelabs.com/

Think I got my little master/slave application working.. just need to fidget a bit with the admin rights. Would this be what you are looking for? It's written in Python:

The tool is finished, should work. It has a built-in funtion to run as admin. Source code can be found on my github. In case you dont want to compile yourself, I also added the .exe's to make it easy to run. Instructions are in the Readme. https://github.com/LooseDevGoose/RemoteLocker
