x86 endpoints?
n
Nope, x64. IGEL UD3 and Lenovo M75q (running IGEL OS). I think @Tim Riegler has a similar issue in the past?
t
We did. A couple things to try - by default, BCR should use x86 Chrome / Edge within the Endpoint. We just released x64 capability on IGEL in one our recent private builds (literally within the last couple weeks). So, first thing - try BCR with x86 Chredge in the VDA, see if that works. If you still have problems, we had to play around with our proxy settings - not sure that would affect your environment. And to be transparent - this was not solved to my satisfaction before I left that company. I DO know that we have customers (I work for IGEL) that are using it, and I'm happy to assist here as much as my time allows 😃
n
I'm on 11.06.230, so I've got the x64 support there.
I have nothing enabled for the proxy config. We do use a PACS file in our browser config. I take it I need to add the proxy file location to the BCR proxy config setting?
t
Hmmmm...that's interesting. Did it have the same behavior in previous versions of FW? What do you have your Citrix client version set to (did you check to see if any of your profiles configure a specific version, rather than 'Default'?)
n
Correction, we use an automatic configuration script, not a proxy server.
t
Regarding the PACS file, that is a good question. We had to configure our proxy to allow unauthenticated access from the IGEL VLANs to sites like Youtube.
n
We never tested this previously.
t
Does it work on a Windows client in the same VLAN? If so, does that Windows client also use the PACS file?
n
CWA is set to 2112 in IGEL. BCR works fine if you close the tab that is blank and relaunch. It's just that sometimes that first launch just shows a blank screwen,.
All clients have that PACS file. Never saw this in Windows, but I need to test more.
t
I'd probably open a case on that one Nick - we should know about it so we can investigate.
n
With Citrix?
I see it happening on Windows endpoints, too.
t
Ah, then it's definitely not an IGEL thing. Yup - open case with Citrix. That's just odd. If you can - it might be worthwhile to play with browser versions on the endpoints and the VDA to see if you can find a "magic" combination. Then write an article and become famous! 😄
And you're sure that BCR is working on the second refresh?
n
Green box is always showing, blank page or when it loads
green icon, I mean
t
Hmmmm...Are you using EDT? What settings do you have on the Citrix side for display options (i.e. are you using the older codecs, or newer codecs)? Have you run through Citrix's troubleshooting article? It's fairly good (but lengthy). Just throwing stuff out there at the moment, sorry.
n
No EDT in use, and in IGEL I'm using all of the recommended settings.
Yeah, their trounleshooting doc hasn't helped.
Especially since it works most of the time.
t
What version of Citrix on the VDA?
n
1912 LTSR CU3
t
Is it just that site? If you allow Youtube, does that work every time? Are you passing credentials through to the Epic site, and if so, do you have the Citrix policy configured correctly for that?
And why BCR on that site? For the return video?
n
I need to test YouTube more, but right now it's just this site. No authentication or anything, and with Fiddler running, I see no other sites being hit up when this page loads.
Yeah, for return video.
Here's what that page looks like when it actually loads
t
Ok, that makes sense. If you launch this page without BCR, how does it grab credentials to log in?
n
lol, I think it's worse after adding the pacs file location to the policy
No login required. It is opening a URL with a connection string via Epic Hyperspace.

I'm going to test YouTube a bunch of times to see if I can reproduce it there to rule out this particular site.
t
Sounds good!
n
Yeah, YouTube is working consistently.

t
What's your allow string in your Citrix policy for Epic?
n
t
Huh. Yup, I'm out of ideas. Weird.
n
I can't get it to load at all now, which is terrific. Gonna wait for the vendor to finally get on a call with me to discuss.

Works fine with BCR disabled:
t
Do you have BCR and HDX Webcam redirection enabled? I wonder if it's balking at that?
n
Both are enabled, yes.
t
Maybe try it with HDX Webcam redirection disabled? See if that "fixes" it?
n
Going through my notes, it looks like I saw the behavior with that config, too.
