Wow...that's a big blow. IMO their online/web based events have not been that interesting
It becomes just another event in the long line of online events

I agree, and made the same comment to them. I guess I'll settle for local events, but that was one of the big draws with Synergy - getting everyone together.
He kept talking about how they use it for sales, etc., but that's not really what most of us use it for.

Same here although I mainly attended Summit and not Synergy

What was the difference between Summit and Synergy?

Summit is target for sales people, and no Citrix customers attend, only partners and distributors

I attended Summit because of PTEC.
Well, not lame, but not very technical either. You could still do some networking and stuff like that

I had a blast at Synergy in 2019. Even the keynote was great.

That's really too bad. Synergy was one of the best conferences in terms of 'community'.

IIRC, Synergy is often run at a loss for Citrix. Based on them going private recently, it prob got the axe based on this. I only went once, and it was ok, I prefer the smaller events without celeb intros and all that

2019 was my first and only Synergy in the US and learnt so much there and made some great contacts. I had hoped to get back to another one day although I 'll admit I won't miss the 23 hours of flights to get there from Australia.

For me, I prefer the smaller events. IGEL Disrupt, E2E, Steve's EUC master's retreat will be my first one in a few weeks 🙂

23 hours of flying… to go to Atlanta? Holy hell, that's some dedication. Hope you at least visited the Georgia Aquarium. It's the best aquarium in the entire country, and it's not even close.

Hi, I asked Nick if i could ask about the statement he got from his sales rep in CTP and i've gotten an answer. The answer we got was that Citrix is looking to do in person events starting 2023 again

We didn't get any information it being localized and not special mention about synergy. The message we got was Citrix is still planning to do in person events from 2023

When I asked about the localized statement, I was told that they haven't decided yet. He gave some examples, like 'east coast' meetup, or meetups in the same time zone.
I guess something is better than nothing.

But in our case (Denmark) we have local meetings via our Citrix User Group, so if Citrix is planning something like that, they are in my opinion "competing" with the Citrix User Group

Yeah, who knows. I'm having a hard time seeing value in it if CUGC does basically the same thing.
