I use evergreen which is enterprise. But sometime I've noticed management says update edge because they see it at home(consumer-WIn 10 preschool version) and I have to explain to them the difference.
n
That's kinda where I'm going with this. I can see my VDAs being in a Defender report for some vulnerability that was fixed in the Consumer channel. Conversely, I still think Enterprise may be the better channel for my VDAs...
Better chance to avoid stuff like the audio sandbox bug from back in the day.

Man, I just had this semi battle last week. Very aggravating . I feel your pain. I reached out to @Deyda because I was wondering why Evergreen didn't pull down the update. Then he educated me that it was enterprise only lol.
n
I use the Evergreen cmdlets to grab the bits, so my script specifically targets the x64/Enterprise build. You can definitely grab the others using it.
r
Most of my scripts I run are based on everygreen or nevergreen from all the automation guys that make my job easier. So I stick with Enterprise. Then it goes back to what you said as well.

oh dang, I see so you are just using the single cmdlet. hmmm need to try that as well.
d
The enterprise script now deliver the 100.x version 🤘🏽
💯 2
r
As far as the difference, from what I seen was more granular ADMX (need to check that) and better versioning on enterprise (stable) @Deyda correct me if I am wrong
d
Nope I see that too
r
Cool
I would keep Enterprise @Nick Panaccio unless your management says no.
n
That's my current stance - stay on Enterprise/Stable unless somebody provides a reasonable explanation as to why we'd need to move to Consumer/Stable.
r
Yea that's a good stance. But you know how management is at times. They know better LOL. Not all, but some.
n
I actually think it would be InfoSec to make the request. If they keep seeing Edge vulnerabilities in the Defender portal, they may force my hand.
r
Yea, that is a good point. Same here now that I think about it.
