I just went through a couple of tests with a brand new profile. I do not see the IdentityCache folder being created when logging into Teams. I have no experience with Teams when using Citrix Profile Management, so I do not know if you need to include specific folders related to Teams. What I see is the AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams being created during Teams logon. This folder ususally holds the Teams configuration and which username that has been used. Are your VDAs by any chance Azure AD hybrid joined?
j
I see. Not Azure AD Hybrid Joined. Just local AD joined. I have found a workaround on how to solve it, but I'm not sure if this is a good practice. In GPO I had to enable "Computer Config --> Policies --> Admin Templates --> Citrix Components --> Profile Management --> Advanced Settins and "Disable automatic configuration" If I then use the "Folders to mirror" Citrix GPO and list "Appdata\Local\Packages" and "AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Caches" then it seems like Teams remembers the credentials... But then again, not sure if this is a good workaround...

FWIW, I have always enabled "Disable automatic configuration", and manually set the inclusions/exclusions required.
(Back when I used CPM)

Good to know Nick and thanks 🙂 What do you use now instead of CPM? Citrix WEM?
n
FSLogix for profile management, but I also use WEM, yes.

So you use FSLogix to store Teams credentials? We are using FSLogix as well, but I couldn't make it to work
n
Yeah, it all works natively without any configuration. My VDAs are also hybrid joined, though. We did have random, weird issues when they were not.
Let me search back to see if creds was one of them.
Nah, the issue I was thinking of was users being prompted to reauthenticate when accessing O365 docs via the web.

Aight. Then I guess I will need to stick to this solution for now. We have a couple of customers that are on VDA 2006 and there is no Teams issues there regarding being promptet for every new session, BUT from VDA 2103 and newer version this issue started to oocur. Not sure what's changed / new in vda 2103 from earlier, but it's something to do with that I noticed.

I don't see that IdentityCache folder, either, but I'd still try Citrix's recommended config to see if that does work: https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/multimedia/opt-ms-teams.html#profile-management-recommendations
Under Best Practices
Out of curiosity, why are you using both FSLogix and CPM together? I'd also disable CPM entirely to see if that fixes it, then you know where to look.
j
I started here last year and I've just been following what the other's have been doing as I'm not too experienced. We are using FSLogix for Microsoft / Office and UPM for the rest as far as I know. If I disable UPM the issue is gone, so it's something to do with UPM. I have been trying to follow that guide several times without luck...
I might look into using only FSLogix and maybe stop using Citrix UPM. Will make a lab enviroment and test it out 🙂
