Don't think you can but is there any way it is possible to suppress the "Teams optimization for your virtual desktop will soon be unsupported" message? We are sorting the stuff for Slimcore but it'll take a few weeks and users are logging calls every time they see this....
j
nope..... you cannot disable the alert.
m
i pinged our contact at msft (ex citrix employee). he acknowledged the issue and said they are expediting a rollout to suppress it.

j
Really? You got any further details as to what they might do?
m
that's all i got from him this am
j
So they're going to issue some sort of Teams update that will stop the nag message from appearing, was that the impression he gave?
m
that's what i gathered but who knows, it could be something that shows up in the admin center
they need to hurry and release the new optimization for igel/linux!
there's supposedly a release candidate out now...
j
WebRTC will stay in support for Linux, no Slimcore in the pipe (couldn't find anything about it)but we had also this nag screen appearing on a thin client which wasn't expected.
m
It may end up being webrtc but it’s supposed to have feature parody with slimcore
j
I'd be very surprised if they do but let's hope
m
Microsoft told me it's in development with plans to go ga buy year end
j
OK WebRTC is being phased out because SlimCore let them do more. It's prob SlimCore being ported to Linux, I just didn't hear about this.
c
how does everyone handle the app privacy pop up for the webcam and microphone for slimcore/teams vdi plugin? i am migrating a customer to slimcore and the users get the app privacy pop up on first run. Some are click no or ignoring it. I looked at the below policy and am looking at rolling it out (Force allow)

Uninstall Teams

m
From MSFT: it will be part of the Teams Web Client component inside the Desktop app, which is a component that auto-updates so no action necessary. It will reach users in 1 week

Probably due to SlimCore, but now teams in HTML5 gives that 😞
j
I always have this one with html5 as offloading doesn't work with html5 or maybe I miss something!
b
oh maybe it's not new, i though it silently failback
j
The WebRTC message is different, I'll try to find a print screen
c
for those needing to migrate from from webrtc to slimcore. I used this MSI download.microsoft.com/download/…/MsTeamsPluginCitrix.msi and deploy through sccm as easier than relying on CWA upgrades as you have to be on a minimum of CWA 2508 to use /installMSTeamsPlugin=Y to install if it wasnt previously selected. Citrix policy to then allow the virtual channels and your all good

j
And it auto-update isn't it?
c
Dont think it will get updated automatically through SCCM i am hoping once i get my all my endpoints on 2607 LTSR CWA i can then add /installMSTeamsPlugin=Y to the command line options of CWA install deployed through SCCM and then once CWA is updated to a newer version eg CWA 2607 CU1 and deployed through SCCM it will upgrade it. Think the Auto update of teams vdi plugin only works with CWA auto update/GACS/Plugin manager docs.citrix.com/en-us/…/new-vdi-solution-for-teams.html#…
j
It seems to get updated only with the MSI, that's the behaviors we've seen with our env, except if we are looking in the wrong space ( we check the version showing up in optimization and it changes)
