After creating a MCS-Provisioned machine catalog for PVS Machines (Win11 on XenServer) docs.citrix.com/en-us/…/create-hybrid-joined-catalogs.html#… the Write Cache Disk is assigned Drive Letter E: I assume the MCS creation process can't handle the BDM Disk and MCS Identity Disk on IDs 0 and 1 Any Ideas how to make it D again?
-WriteBackCacheDriveLetter
from
New-ProvScheme
only accepts E ore higher.
r
MIne are set to 😧
d
It works fine on VMware via Studio UI. But not via PoSh on XenServer
r
Let me make one wiht BDM also and see what happens
Ok this is vmware
id have to start up my xenservers to test that
d
I used the scripts provided here (XenServer part) docs.citrix.com/en-us/…/citrix-provisioning-catalog-in…#…
r
Yea let me just ask the developers
I just noticed that in the latest versions of the powerrshell sdk the new-provscheme cmdlet has a -writebackcachedriveletter parameter. You could try that. What version of CVAD are you on? Or are you using DaaS?
d
This parameter only accepts letters starting from E. CVAD 2507 OnPrem
r
hmm maybe becasue its supposed to use d
ok ill et you know what i find out
Ok the reason is that during provisioning the identity disk gets mapped to the d drive then later in the process the mapping gets changed to a folder path but the cache disk has already been set. The cmdlet options dont apply when used wiht Citrix Provisioning on for mcs cache disks. So you would need to enter an RFE if you really need it to be D otherwise just switch to E.
d
And why does it work with vmware then? Can non-enterprise customers raise RFEs?
r
through arrow you should be able to
I dont know why it works different wiht vmware
d
Do you know an ETA when XenServer based targets will be available in Webstudio GUI?
r
ill try to ask
It is not in 2607 but its on the roadmap
