Since quite a while Remote Display Analyzer (RDAnalyzer) stopped working for us and I feel stupid. Has there changed anything? I load the latest exe and launch it with user permissions inside the (HDX) session, right? I'll always get an error and it closes itself. This is in on VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2025 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2507.1100.
n
Works fine on my Azure W11 VM
Give me a second and I'll try it on a S25 VM on ESX
Also good in S25
m
Tried it at another customer, also VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2025 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2507.1100. Same issue.
n
Only difference here is your S25 build. We're using Standard en-US not Datacenter de-DE
@Rody Kossen may have some insight here, actually.
m
Next test: VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2022 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2507.1100. Same issue.
haha next test: VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2019 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2507.1100. Same issue.
n
One common denominator here...
m
I know right? All Broadcoms fault! /s
n
haha
I meant Datacenter edition, but even that may be a stretch
r
Are both OS versions set to German?
m
uh my final test worked! VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2016 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2507.1100 2402.3100.
n
S16? lmao
m
Everything we build for VDAs is installed from a Microsoft de-DE ISO downloaded from the partner network. Zero language packs in-place. de-DE from start to finish (for the VDAs)
Oh sorry I've to correct my self a tiny bit. Worked: VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2016 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2402.3100.
Interesting, another combination that works: Worked: VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2022 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2402.3100.
@Rody Kossen Any way I can troubleshoot or provide information to you guys?
So far it seems to be related to CVAD 2507.1100 and/or de-DE.
Doesn’t work: VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2025 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2507.1100. VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2022 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2507.1100. VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2019 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2507.1100. Works: VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2022 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2402.3100. VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2019 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2402.3100. VMware 8.x, Windows Server 2016 Datacenter de-DE, and CVAD 2402.3100.
I also tried older version from RDAnalyzer (github.com/RDAnalyzer/release/releases). The issue persists.

There was an issue with DLLs in a certain VDA version @Rody Kossen I can't recall the actual gist of it but @Bram Wolfs and I talked about that before
r
@Marco Hofmann I am no longer part of RDAnalyzer (left almost 5 years ago when I started working for Citrix), so can't help you with that
@Bram Wolfs or @Ryan Ververs-Bijkerk , FYI ^^
m
Thank you very much, guess I'll have to wait.
I sent an e-mail to support@rdanalyzer.com ^^
Or is a GitHub issue the right way? I don't know.

I pinged Bram on WhatsApp

Thanks guys, @Marco Hofmann we received your support e-mail and will come back to it shortly 👍 from first sight it looks like missing ICA performance counters

This sounds like I did something wrong? FYI: This are Images installed my MDT. From scratch each month. Then rolled out to MCS.
m
I think performance counter names are language specific
I remember this being an issue with something else

@Bram Wolfs Discovered, that on each of my CVAD 2507.1100 environments, the category ICA Session is missing from perfmon. I was baffled. As you all might know, I install all my MCS master images from scratch monthly with MDT. So far every environment is affected, but CVAD 2402.3100. This is either a bug with VDA 2507.1100 or I install it wrongly, somehow. Community: Might some of you check please, if the category ICA Session is visible in perfmon for you? Especially on VDA 2507.1100? Thank you!
j
I have it on 2507.0.1103.19, W25.

Same issue here with VDA 2511 on W11 Multi Session in Azure with German Language Pack installed (OS is English though)
