Has anyone else been having the discussions with organizations about how, Yes, AI is a thing. But so is everything else that is part of your IT organization. And working to keep the focused on the other parts of the IT environment that doesn't need AI?

Oh man, yes. We have a monthly departmental meeting and 90% of every meeting is about AI. AI AI AI AI AI. Yet, I have never seen any cohesive plan for how or what to use AI for outside of basic daily job stuff (script help, parsing reports, etc.). We stopped talking about actual project and initiatives long ago.

All of us that lived through the Web 2.0 bubble, the 90s Internet bubble, the early 2000s recession are just planning for when the AI bottom falls out and we can scoop up all kinds of cheap server hardware.

the speed at which things change now doesnt seem like the bottom is going to fall out of AI - maybe the margins for it will, but not AI itself
