Last time I checked, there was an "In Development" item on the Citrix roadmap for App Layering automation: https://updates.cloud.com/details/uni89665/. However, the Citrix Roadmap site doesn't seem to exist anymore. Has there been any progress on this, or is everyone still using the unofficial reverse enineered apis from https://github.com/ryancbutler/UnideskSDK?

We have a PoSH SDK on the appliance now, but it is mainly serving the new IPS workflows. We do plan to add general purpose layering APIs to that, but it is very limited at the moment. There is a Packer plugin for AL releasing very soon, and this will enable automation for packaging workflows (creating and managing app layers).

I tested the new Packer plugin and was able to create and update a layer, but it appears to lack the ability to assign the layer to either a group or an image or I'm missing something?

Layer assignments to a template are not a packaging workflow, so that was not in-scope (nor do we think it would be the most helpful) to handle within the Packer plugin. We have a follow up plan to add a PoSH commandlet to the Layering SDK to enable scripted assignment and publish for templates (and potentially other template-related actions if customers need/request them). On the backlog currently but pretty high priority. If that isn't what you had in mind, and you have other feedback for how you think that should work please let us know.

Sounds good, since you asked for more feedback those two things would also be nice to have in the AL PowerShell module • Add the ability to track current layer version numbers. • Add the ability to delete layers.

good ones. the first bullet is on our backlog (as part of a general "Get-Layerinfo" commandlet that would grab any and all layer details) and we will likely pull the work in soon, and if so should make it out in a release before EOY. the second one is sort of new. how do the CTPs go about raising RFEs these days? I would need a request in our system so i can track it. I don't think i am able to create them (only update them once they get raised).
