Hey friends, what is the best way to move stores from older version of store front to new one? I have a group of server running 2402 on server 2016. Building a new group on 2025 with 2507 LTSR. I dont think export works between versions. I would rather not upgrade current prod installation if possible. If I manually recreate the store I am guessing it would mess with existing user subscriptions or workspace configs?

If you manually recreate everything and keep the same names I think it should be fine. You'll want the same store name, delivery group display names, etc. I've done it that way before, but now export/import and upgrade SF on one of the new servers. Then join the other new servers that are already running the new version of SF to the server group.

thats a good idea. I am not sure if I want to upgrade or even move entire config. the current system has been through many iterrations of upgrades and config modifications...

Export the config on 2402 (WS2016), install 2402 on WS2025, import the config, inplace upgrade SF to 2507

dont think you can install 2402 on server 2025, otherwise you'd just do that and join the existing storefront group. You can build server 2022, install storefront 2402, and join the group....decom the 2016 servers, upgrade storefront on server 2022 to 2507, then build 2 new server 2025 VMs, install storefront 2507, join storefront group, decom server 2022 machines... i'm sure there is a way to just go straight to 2025 on 2507 with powershell and export/import, just dont know off the top of my head

Great article. I ended up doing and export, building server 2022 with old store front, importing config, upgrading and then exporting again to 2025. checked ID and it seems to match
