This maybe a ridiculous question but has anyone looked into a way to email notification when a publish job completes?

No, but there is a Notification Settings section in the ELM. Wonder if you can actually configure something like this. I don't see any documentation on it at all.

There is not a good way to do that right now. There is a webhooks feature on the backlog. With that you would be able to configure the ELM to call an arbitrary HTTP(s) endpoint when a task completes. If that would solve your use case then you should reach out with an RFE to help drive up priority and define use cases you want to solve. There is also the new PowerShell API that may solve your use case in the future. It is currently focused around the new IPS feature, but it should be expanded in the future. It probably won't be good general notifications, but it will (in the future) allow you to initiate a publish job and monitor it until it is done. Submit RFEs on what is most useful to add to that too if interested.

yea if it can send webhook to azure monitor or something that would work too. Powershell APIs to trigger things woul dbe nice too. But at least regular email saying your job succeeded or failed would be helpful tbh 😄

hi @Dima as Tyler mentioned, it would be good to get an RFE for any new requests (let me know if you are unsure how to do that). At the moment, I have the PoSH enhancement to publish an image as a pretty high priority on our backlog, so there is a chance we could deliver that in the relative near-term. I would imagine, with that, it would not be a huge effort to extend it via some custom scripting to also fire off an email when the task completes. Another general enhancement we are considering would be a PoSH cmdlet that lets you get a list of all running tasks, so you can monitor them. Then, even if you kicked off a publish from the console, you could then build a script which monitors it and fires off an email when it is done, if you wanted to.

how do we sent RFE?

it is an internal system of ours... TBH not sure how our partners are supposed to. End customers can raise them via tech support tickets. I believe if I create one, it will require me to supply some customer information. I will try it and let you know what info it asks me for.
