I know there's a lot of posts lately about how Citrix best days are behind it, but I have to disagree. Using Citrix Cloud/DaaS now is SOOO much better than 5 or 6 years ago. Changes happen SO FAST, and it's like they are reading my mind. Just a silly example, I thought it would be beneficial to have the Image version Description show on the main selection under change prepared image, instead of having to click them if you don't recall which one it should be. Before I could even submit the feedback to request it, I see today it's done! Citrix is really stepping it up with Citrix Cloud right now!

The Citrix technology is still top notch nobody can dispute that

Just need them to ensure that MS never catches them, because with their skyrocketing licensing costs, MS is swooping in and picking off customers to move to W365, etc.

MS certainly is leveraging their price advantage no doubt, but on technology maturity I'd still take Citrix. But as we know it's not solely about good technology

I've done a good bit of automation with on-prems and LTST has been stable those past few years, no downtime. Citrix is pushing us to the Cloud, but I'm still reluctant to move, automation is one, change control is second, it's going with stability. And I can't see any feature killer that would make me want to move to Cloud. Am I just wrong ?

Not having to manage infrastructure is a huge plus, IMO.

Evergreen is a huge plus as well.
What's the concern around automation and using Citrix cloud?
The biggest hurdle on Citrix Cloud I think is that it's only 3 9s. They put a lot of emphasis on LHC to take up that slack. We still leverage netsaclers and storefront as I think the gateway service and cloud workspace need a bit more refinement.

Not so much a concern, but it's probably work to convert my script to Cloud. For example, I create/delete desktop, create/set AD group as part of the process based on an ini file managed by a dev team. I have SQL query I can run against Director to extract user activity. Thanks for your feedback guys! Our NS gateway has been branded too, native OTP used, etc. Tbh our setup works well, it's solid and mature. I'm keeping my eyes on Ctx Cloud. I agree with the infra but it's not taking that much time to keep up to date, a lot is automated.

I think it comes down to are you doing more than just apps and desktops. When you start looking at WEM, and other things having that management in the cloud really starts to make things improve the scaling
j
We do but then everything not part of the products need most likely to run Cloud. For example, we use UberAgent with Elasticsearch/grafana. You will need to pay to run this in the Cloud. Anyhow it depends would be the usual answer here! Thanks ...

@langsbr which refinement are you looking for with relation to Gateway Service?
