After installing Windows 11 24H2 updates in the OS layer, explorer.exe is now not loading in an app layer built off of the updated OS layer. I had this issue earlier in the year and an app layering update was released to fix it. Anyone else having an issue with this? App layering is running 2507.

So you cant logon or do you mean file explorer is nto accessible

I can login. I have the Windows login screen, but after logging in explorer.exe isn't running. If I manually start it, it immediately ends.

And when you say not running in an app layer you mean when your in a packaging machine adding a version to the app layer?

That's correct, when in a packaging machine adding a version to the app layer explorer.exe doesn't run. When creating a new app layer explorer.exe is running.

You might need to create a new layer. Does it happen on every layer?

It's only this specific app layer. New versions on other layers do not have the issue. So doesn't seem similar to the issue earlier in the year as I previously thought. Also, creating a new version based on an older version doesn't have the issue. I'll go ahead and get my updates done in this app layer and redo what I had done in the later version that may be the culprit of the issue. Then try adding another version based on this one and see if it has the issue.

No issues with explorer.exe on a new app layer version created from the app layer version created/updated from an older version. I'll delete the version that seems to be where the issue is at and call it day. Thanks for the help. Probably jumped the gun on this. When I saw explorer.exe issues my mind went right to the issues earlier in the year with it.
