Hi all! Setting up a new environment for a custome...

Hi all! Setting up a new environment for a customer and I am curious about if I should go with UPM? Been using Fslogix ever since it appeared basically, but I hear good things about UPM so maybe I should try it for a change...? Customer use only published apps. Haven't worked with UPM since before the containerization feature, so I am not up to date on the up/down sides nowadays.

I'd stick with FSL personally. (And I say that, knowing FSL is long in the tooth.) We went UPM on our W11 fleet and have had issue after issue. Documentation for the container solution is sparse, and often time information is conflicting. Citrix has made great strides with UPM, but they've fallen behind on support and documentation for new features.

Id say the opposite. Support for FSL is basically non existent and the documentation for CPM is excellent
You don't need containers for published apps most of the time, the usual ost stuff tend to be your triggers

I would agree with James. Just did CPM for a large Win11 VDI roll out and seeing it be much more efficient IO wise compared to FSL. FSL was a great solution and I loved it, but it has not kept up with the times IMO

You guys didn't make it easier! 😄 We need to support Outlook and OneDrive so I guess we need containers to some extent, I need to read up on this. Thanks for input!

We did containers with CPM, it works well

Only containers or a mix?

Full containers for us. They were full FSLogix containers before and the ease of management of full containers was desired, but the FSL support challenges were becoming too much so we switched to CPM. The more efficient IO was an added benefit we didn't expect
