getting random issues with profile mgmt containers on VDA 2402 on server 2022. getting temporary profiles caused by "Windows was unable to load C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\\UsrClass.dat."

trying to understand with profile CONTAINERS this setting of "delay before deleting local profile". docs say when using containers it will automatically delete the local profile.

Windows server 2019 Citrix UPM and VDA 2203 LTSR CU5 Published Apps (Outlook 365) Azure Hybrid Joined When the user disconnect, all processes exit as normal and the user is logged off. However, Aptos fonts shows as "in use" hence the local profile doesn't get deleted on logoff. I used Sysinternals Process Explorer to try and pin point what process/service is holding up the files but couldn't find anything. Apparently these fonts are downloaded on the fly when Outlook 365 is used? Aptos is the new-ish default font for Outlook. Anyone has seen this and found a solution?

Some of our Users experience delayed logins, logs show following entry "A cache fill for user %USERNAME% of file "C:\....\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles" is taking a long time" "User %USERNAME% appears to have stalled while trying to fill cache file "C:\....\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles". User may be blocked. at first we assumed issues coming from a specific Firefox version but after upgrading and expanding our AV exception list this issue persists.

Hi all. Has anyone gotten the new teams to start work with accelrate folder mirroring enabled? I can get teams to work if I disable that setting, but as soon as I enable it, teams won't start up. I'm sure there is something easy I'm missing, but I can't seem to figure it out

As of 2407 registry inclusions and exclusions apply to container profiles, would also be interested to see what Citrix say regarding it as nothing in the Citrix documentation mentions them.

Hi Guys, we are currently testing CPM containers + OneDrive containers as a replacement for our existing FSLogix solution. We are seeing some oddities with the OneDrive containers taking anywhere from 2-4 mins to detach after the user has logged out. Anyone else experienced this? maybe a configuration issue on our end? (thanks @Chris Jeucken for inviting me) I am currently implementing CPM profile containers at a customer where they also want to make use of OneDrive. because of multiple concurrent sessions we will need OneDrive containers so I enabled the policy for this. however the OneDrive container does not get created. UPM logs show that the policy is enabled but it doesn't do anything with it according to the UPM logs: 2024-10-15;201502.154;INFORMATION;domain;username;7;13160;ProcessOneDriveContainerLogon: Process OneDrive container logon. entry <<< 2024-10-15;201502.156;INFORMATION;domain;username;7;13160;ProcessOneDriveContainerLogon: Process OneDrive container logon. exit <<< Onedrive does work but it's in the profile container. what is the best way to maintain a profile-less workflow, with the "Delete locally cached profiles on logoff" working? essentially, I am serving a specific multi session host VDA virtual app workflow, but I do not want to maintain any user profiles for it, but I do want the locally created profiles to be wiped off as well from the server VDA? i realized if I don't specify a path to user store, the "Delete locally cached profiles on logoff" does not work. thank you

Hi Folks, we are starting to use certificate as a second factor for O365 services and I found out that if it's a temp profile, the cert request (not import as our cert can't be exported with private key) failed with the error 0x80090024 (-2146893788 NTE_TEMPORARY_PROFILE) Anyone has a way to request a cert for a temp profile? Also, I don't think it's possible to use a local profile if the UPM profile can't be loaded? Best I can find is to log off if the user can't load his profile. Not ideal. Thanks!

New day, new question, I'm building our new W22 image. I can't roam the Office 365 shared activation sign in/identity (need to sign in Outlook at each logon). I use UPM 2402 file based, FSL for Office ost. It doesn't seem compatible when using WAM and file based. Container seems to be required. So I'm exploring the accelerated mirrored folders, roaming the Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin package without too much luck for now! I am considering to disable WAM and use ADAL. I know it's not future proof but now going into full profile container to accommodate WAM roaming is overkill storage wise! I like the flexibility and tiny storage footprint of UPM file based ... Any input would be welcome especially on how to roam WAM identity with UPM file based. Thanks a mill

Do you still roam IE files/folders related? I still have this Webcachev01.dat created at 26MB and I don't see why I would keep it. Any reason? We use Chrome / Edge. A nice working W22 profile with Teams 2 roaming, activation and co. Chrome and Edge opened come at 27MB per user. It will obviously get bigger but that's a nice start.

Hello all with citrix container profiles, does anyone have any feedback on the use of multisession for w10/11 VDIs? especially with “Enable multi-session write-back for profile containers” enabled. Does it work well? we're going to migrate to 2402 and switch from fslogix to Citrix containers. thanks for answers

@James Rankin Sir...wanted to clarify something from some of your blog posts in regards to multi session and containers (and fslogix, although we dont use that). Specifically the UPM_Profile folder that gets created in c:\users alongside the regular profile name.

In Citrix file based UPM in Exclusion list - directories is it possible to use a wildcard like Chrome\UserData\*\Extensions to cover all the various Default, Profile 1,2,3 etc folders. The help guide in the ADMX template seems to suggest it it isn't possible

I have early indications that Citrix has improved (fixed) Outlook errors with CU2. I was able to consistently cause the errors and figured out how to clean them regularly. I am now, after installing CU2, not able to recreate the issues.

Hi, I have a customer that's having some files on c:\app containing cached data that's about 20-30GB, this needs to be included into the profile container. We now use FSlogix with App masking rules to redirect the files to the FSLogix profile, but the customer wants to start using CPM. Is there a option to set this with CPM, symbolic links aren't working we have tested that.

We have disabled streaming by GPO. Anyone used the Citrix UPM OneDrive container feature to manage OneDrive and got any comments or experiences? The way I see it, it creates a single VHDX for OneDrive files which is then accessible from muItiple sessions, correct? Which gets around one of the limitations of FSLogix which was that it wasn't supported for concurrent sessions.

Haven’t seen this before. What would be the reason the container users the server name in addition to a container with the username? Is it multiple logins at the same time?

I have a question about the CPM feature "Migrate User Store (https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/profile-management/2402-ltsr/configure/migrate-user-store.html) After the policies are configured when does the data transfer occur? Logon | Store1 => Store2 = VDA or Logon | Store1 => VDA; Logoff | VDA => Store2? In essence my question is, does data transfer happen in real time between stores during logon or from the old store at logon and to the new store at logoff? I appreciate any input. Thanks
