Wonder if this means Windows 11 Multisession on-prem as well? ๐Ÿค”
o
yeah, was just trying to remember that part myself on the Win11 MS piece. My guess if you are needing to pay for use of AVD now for this privilege, I am hoping you get that entitlement also... I will hopefully be able to find out here at Ignite more detail on that
s
Windows 11 Enterprise Multi-Session is not supported.

Thatโ€™s odd - so server 2025 or newer only?
Licensing wise what is required?
o
Bout right....
s
Any OS supported on-prem by Microsoft today is supported. User entitlement requirements are the same as AVD in Azure. We've not announced the billing model yet.

Just to be clear. Windows 11 Enterprise is supported and so is Windows Server 2016-2025.

Use Azure Local if you want the Multi-Session capablities...

So Yes, for Windows 11 multi-session with Azure Local?
o
Yes, Win11 MS is there for Azure Local. But not for any of this right now apparently with even the pricing TBD. Unlocking Multisession Client OS was still not on the table for this and having those available in this offering via the Marketplace. Either way, this is a great first step and option for us for 3rd party AVD usage outside of Azure Local for workloads. More flexibility and possibilities with the conversations.
