Use dedicated machines for hosting the Cloud Connector. Do not install any other components on these machines.
I can't even imagine the chaos of VDAS trying to register with a CC role hosted on themselves whilst Citrix handle auto updating of the CCs - that would be binge worth watching though as things start looping 🍿

right, that's a good point.. a little tricky to sell two dedicated servers to customers with very small citrix environments..

I feel you, might be a better fit for something that isn't as technically heavy as Citrix?

sure, but this was a lot easier to accomodate as a csp msp with on-prem, wish the cloud connectors were a little more csp friendly
the cloud connectors don't support a service/resource forest deployment either

I was forced to do something similar in the past. It was chaos. Don't do that.
