I am working with my customer on rolling out Windows 24H2 within their VMware Horizon 8 22.12 / 2312 instant clone environment. We are seeing an issue with Windows explorer crashing. Specifically when a user opens an explorer windows, clicks through a few directories, and then presses the back button, the back button stops working. If we close out all the windows and open them back up, the back button works. Has anyone run into this issue before?

If this is 23H2, it's a known issue.
t
It's Windows 24H2
s
This was plaguing all my customers running 23H2. File Explorer freezes, the taskbar stops functioning, until Outlook/OneDrive are closed. Workaround was to force Windows 10 explorer instead of Windows 11.
Oh hmm, haven't seen it on 24H2.
t
So changing the UI to Windows 10
s
Not full UI, but just File Explorer
t
Since that is a user policy setting we would need to enforce that through GPO
s
But this shouldn't be happening on 24H2, it only affects later updated versions of 23H2
t
My builds are brand new versions of Windows 11 24H2
I will see if my customer has a newer version of 24H2 available.
