What kind of issues are you seeing? The biggest one we dealt with at my last place was OneDrive automatically updating in an App layer. Ended up getting crafty with my OD install script to prevent that in the future.

issues we are seeing is that when users sync team files, and for example 2 people edit an excel at the same time, a duplicate gets created by one of the users containing the sessionhost's hostname

Honestly doesn't sound like an issue related to which layer the client is in to me

Just a quick question, do your users use the sync client to sync teams folders? And do they collaborate in office files at the same time without problems? I tested so much and we keep having the same issue (duplicate files with hostname attached)

My current place doesn't use OneDrive or Teams yet in VDI, and I left the last place before Teams collaboration stuff really took off, so I can't really help there.
