Does the Citrix App Layering ELM support Azure D v6 VMs which use NVMe drives? If not, is this something on their road plan to support?
r
Do you mean for the elm itself?
If so i dont see why not.
k
No, for App/OS layer building and image publishing. I built a Windows 11 MS 24H2 Azure v6 VM, and it failed to import as an OS Layer, so I assumed maybe the Compositing Engine didn't support reading NVMe drives. Not sure how to tell what failed, the ELM just said, "Waiting on the Compositing Engine to be ready" and failed after a 20 min timeout. The capture VM itself was running and had a valid IP the whole time. Any ideas?

I can ask on Monday

BTW is this a new implementation or did you have it working before wiht older instance types
k
This is a pre-existing ELM. We current are using it with Azure VMs, but with v4 and v5 VMs and SCSI controller types. We are just wanting to experiment with NVMe/v6 VMs as they are supposedly much faster for only a few dollars more per month.

We hadn tested. We are testing now but it will likely require changes.

Thanks, I figured as much. Just wanted to see if it was on Citrix's radar.

Hey Keith if you have a Citrix ATS assigned to your account could you ask them to add an RFE for this. That will help us get it prioritized in engineering.
k
My colleague usually handles the Citrix contact stuff and he's out this week. I'll send him a message to see if he can assist with that. Thanks again for looking into this.
Ok, we got an RFE submitted. #84745d74 according to our ATS.
