Greetings all! I've got a customer who's interested in using Zerto to replicate their Citrix Cloud hybrid environment , they are using Citrix Cloud for workspace / gateway service, so no Netscalers to deal with . Their VDAs are MCS running on vSphere 8.x They are currently replicating to Azure, but are noting long recovery times and high costs, so want to evaluate Zerto recovering to a vSphere destination AFAIK, Zerto doesn't provide any best practices for particular scenario. on this KB from CTX, Zerto is called out along with our repl based DR providers for being not well suited for MCS/PVS https://community.citrix.com/tech-zone/design/design-decisions/cvad-disaster-recovery/#wiki-header-32, I know why, as you've got to re-build the snapshot chain with your imported MCS master, i've gone through this before with VEEAM and Nutanix replication, it wasn't super smooth, but was do-able from a 1-2 hour RTO. Anyone have hands-on experience with a similar setup ? How did it go for you? Any issues, lessons learned, "NEVER AGAIN" , feedback would be appreciated :-) The DR scenario the customer is interested in, is a hard down for their main HQ, as such, we'd be replicating over their AD/filers/SQL and other Citrix pre-reqs.

I am assuming zerto changes the vmids which woudl cause all kinds of issues if your uring cs
You would have to script changing the vmids i think
in the broker
to have power management

Good point, Rob, yeah. i'm not 100% sure on how Zerto handles this part. They don't provide guidance specifically on how Citrix MCS / PVS provisioned VMs would function (or not) with their replication technology

They should be able to tell you if vmids change or not.
