Tested to migrate our test ELM to new 24.9.0.1, migration worked fine but I'm experiencing issues with the Network File Share for Elastic Layering. Running a test will take 10 min+, uploading a new layer doesn't work at all. I can see files being updated on the share, and I can also write new files from the mount points on the ELM itself. Have anyone else experienced the same issue?

Curious to hear thoughts on this, too, as we'll be migrating nearly a dozen ELMs to 2409 in a few months, with most of them doing nothing but elastic layering.

This is not something I have heard of before. Just to be sure you dont have multiple Appliances pointed to the same share do you? That causes all kinds of issues. Sometimes customers have rolled out the new one pointing to the same sa the old and they leave both old a new running. Then the configs write over each other.

I haven’t seen this either when I did testing on with this on Nutanix Files.

We have multiple Appliances but they points do different shares, our shares are hosted on a Windows Server 2019 Filecluster. This is Start Time / Last Updated when I just add a new user to a elastic layer and let it sync 2/25/2025, 51456 PM 2/25/2025, 51456 PM 2/25/2025, 51816 PM 2/25/2025, 52037 PM

@David Eriksson I asked engineering about your issue. We have not seen this sssue yet. They said the logs you shoudl look at are:

/var/log/Unidesk/maservice.log

and

/var/log/messages

And they recommend you look soon asfter testing the share or making a chnage.

Update: Something in our Sysmon config is causing this issue.
