HI all, I'm trying to call a batch file using an external task in the Citrix WEM Service. It doesn't call the batch file with an error in the agent log stating "Unable to validate target file existence"....followed by "Cannot start process because a file name has not been provided". The file location is definitely correct. I have tried using the "Run Script" (which imports the file), and also "Run Command" methods for WEM external tasks but the error is the same. The next step is a call to support - does anyone have any suggestions on this however?

could you share your configuration? This error occurs when we can't find the execution file.

Thanks I've raised a case on this with support, some unusual behaviour esp when using the Run Script option where the script is uploaded into WEM itself.

Is it on a network location, or local on the image?

Hi Jeff, on further investigation the issue was actually with the scripted version of external tasks where you upload the script into the WEM console (not the command version, which relies on a definitive file location). Citrix support had me update the WEM agent to the latest CR and it just started working. It's a great feature when it works 😮
