Load evaluator failure issues. Anyone seen this? We have a session count set to 22 users per vm on vertical load balancing. Sometimes though the load evaluator stops working, and it just crams users onto boxes that are WAY over loaded.
Restarting the Citrix Desktop Service gets the Load Index back calculated as 10000

Nope which version are you on?

2402

that usually fixes that problem for me, setting the max users. You sure you didn't set the concurrent users instead of max? 🙂
j
Yup. The other 600 some servers were working find. Just occassionaly would have a few freak out.
s
wonder if reloading the performance counters or something would do it, new VDA? or is all of this existing?

Still mad issue, on 2402 CU1 I have a max nb of 15 (for DR) and it works fine with the load balancing, avg is 8 users and no need to limit it.

We are rolling out cu1 on our images and will test again. We are done with our DR test so going back to on-prem horizontal load balancing. So some failure in the Citrix Desktop Service calculating the load and sending it back.

Sorry I am working on 2402CU1 upgrade but I currently use 2203CU5, that's where I have no issue.

we have been seeing this with 2402cu1 and app layering. I originally suspected app layering was having issues with how it now handles performance counters. Support says its a race condition with perf counters being rebuilt and the desktop service starting. Apparently a fix is coming, but delayed start for the desktop service may work (we haven't tested yet). Our issue is specific to the CPU/RAM metrics not being counted not general user count not working.
