Hi All, Do you know if it's possible to migrate two On-Premise WEM site in one Citrix WEM Service configuration ? I don't know if with the new WEM On-Premise console it's possible to backup / restore configuration to the Cloud. I already do this for a Cloud to Cloud migration and it works. The WEM migration tool override the DB so we can only do one site migration, I need a solution to the second site. Thanks !

I don't think it's possible. We went through the same thing, and I ended up just importing an exported config set to get it into the new WEM Service site (upload new config set and save it as a Backup, create new config set, restore this new backup to the new config set).

I can use the migration tool for one site and export the backup / restore of the new WEM console for the other (I just hope the backup / restore for the Web console works from On-Premise to CLoud)

Backup/restore from on-prem to Cloud worked for us, so I'd expect it to also work for you

And I had to migrate half a dozen separate WEM sites to half a dozen new cloud tenants because my place is batshit crazy, lol

I hope so 😉 Thanks mate.

I'm a huge WEM fan, and have really liked the new web console. Only has a few weird nuances to it (like you can't search for devices, you need to filter for their name instead).

Hey, we use an on-prems CVAD 2203 for now. I tried a while ago WEM but at the time, I didn't find it that valuable. The new ish Privilege escalation and potentially for the Start menu management on Windows 2022 and Windows 11 is appealing. As being on-prems, would using the Cloud WEM is a good idea? I have no Cloud Connector but we are licensed for the Cloud but I'm interested only in WEM for now. Or should I go back to WEM on-prems? Thanks

Doesn't really seem like using WEM Service would be the play for you since your infrastructure is all on-prem, honestly. It means a little more management on your end (brokers and SQL), but at least now you'd have access to WEM's web console in an on-prem installation.

OK thanks Nick 👍

I have the same point of view but I think that the most big advantage of the Cloud solution is you will always be up to date (big advantage for WEM because the product is not concern by LTSR lifecycle), you will just have to manage agent updates. The second advantage is that you don't need infrastructure servers for WEM but you will need Cloud Connectors (so the number of VM will not be very different between the both solution).

Good summary!
More and more features are porting to the Web console and you can use them more quickly on the WEM cloud service.
