We currently run CVAD, shared hosted desktops, server 2016. We are in the process of deploying teams 2 (os upgrade to 2019, due to vendor support restrictions). Last week we started to get reports that teams classic isn’t working with the 2016 desktop with a message saying it needs to be updated. I was under the impression that Microsoft had extended the availability of classic teams to July 2025, and end of support would be October 25th 2024? I’ve checked another deployment, but that works fine, just get the standard message about teams EOL, but you can continue using it. Is anyone else seeing this? Other than using the web teams or moving to the 2019 image, is there any way to fix this?

It works fine on 2016 as we currently use it. Users will get end of support and end of availability banners but the actual end of availability where it will stop working is July 2025

Yeah that what I thought aswell. We also have another environment where it works fine. This one though they just get this when opening teams:

You need to be on the latest Teams 1.0 version, 1.7 something otherwise it won't work.
