Anyone got Teams 2 working in an App Layer? Getting reports that the permissions get broken when used in this manner....(on a published desktop only)
b
Yes, it works for us but with all the usual issues everyone else was having too.
b
Had to update the ELM to a later build even though we were on a supported build. Issue we saw like you were permissions so Teams wouldn't launch. ELM upgrade fixed that

We have had alot if issues with microsoft changing code after we get it working and we have to change again. So the latest non public version is recommended for teams.
j
The latest non-public version of App Layering? How would one go about obtaining a "non-public" version? Requesting a private hotfix with a support case? Or am I misunderstanding?
r
Open a case

Do you have a build number? each time we open a case with support for a non-public anything they are reluctant to supply it until we can "repro the issue"
b
What I got was 24.3.8.40

Thanks! New Teams issues are like a game of Whac-A-Mole.
For now, good thing Teams Classic is still a viable workaround. I keep thinking "Next image update we'll be able to remove Teams Classic." At this rate, we'll have to keep it around as long as it continues to work.

Iโ€™m still waiting on v24.3.9 from support. I see reference to v2409 from CTX691919, is there an ETA for v2409 to GA?

any day now

Guess it was really any day ๐Ÿ™‚

I guess since there is not a direct upgrade, I'll need to push support for v24.3.9 until we can stand up new v2409 ELMs
b
So it's parallel ELM, export/import everything?
b
never mind, no need to push support, 24.03.9 is alliable from the 24.09 downloads page

Hello everyone, I'm new to the channel and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Timo and we also use App Layering. Teams 2 runs flawlessly for us, including the add-in for Outlook and a camera also works without any problems. We had a bootstrapper installation and made adjustments to the profiles as described on the MS website for Teams under VDI. However, in my experience, Teams must first be started and logged in, during which the add-in is installed and you can then use Outlook. We had installed the last May update of the ELM because Teams was not copied to the start menu, after that everything actually ran smoothly.

We got teams working, but the outlook-addin won't show. 32bit installation for office and teams, and windows Server 2019. The Addin installer is located in the teams installation folder, and We Installed the add-in with the msi, and simply just targeted C:\programfiles.. Else i would think, that the addin would in installed in every users individual appdata folder.. after publish, when opening outlook, it shows as a COM add in, and it is enabled, but the actual teams buttons aren't available.
