Does anyone use a non-domain joined master image in MCS? The documentation says that the provisioned machines are domain joined, but the master doesn't need to be. We currently have 2 images that are basically identical except for the domain they are on. If we unjoined the domain on the master image, can we then use that as the template/snapshot for MCS for both machine catalogs that are in different domains (and different sites)?

https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-daas/install-configure/machine-catalogs-create.html#prepare-a-master-image-on-the-hypervisor-or-cloud-service More specific: IMPORTANT: If you are using MCS, do not run Sysprep on master images. If you are not using MCS, join the master image to the domain where applications and desktops are members. Ensure that the master image is available on the host where the machines are created. If you are using MCS, joining the master image to a domain is not required. The provisioned machines are joined to the domain specified in the catalog creation wizard The answer is Yes 🙂

I’ve built plenty of images that aren’t domain joined, and used images that are joined to one domain and provisioned them in another - long live MCS Active Directory handling
