@Rob Zylowski If i have edge in the OS layer, and a user installed edge in their userlayer some time back, would them uninstalling it automagically bring back to the surface the one in the OS layer? or is there some cleanup i need to do?

No you need to mount it from a non layered desktop and removethe files otherwise they eill be marked as deleted and the deletes take precedence
