I have seen that happen. They go to update and if they are a store app it will see the app store disabled and then they remove themselves. You may need to enable the app store for those common apps to be able to update themselves.

as far as i am aware you can’t pick and choose what to allow? we block the store as a whole but we allow auto updates… also the app is not removed, it’s just not launching anymore… I am suspecting VCLib is failing to download updates and then anything that rely on it will fail to start….

For us this was firewall rules. Check Event Viewer > Application and Services Log > Microsoft > Windows > Store > Operational and see if you see communication type errors or errors acquiring license.

I also suspect it’s firewall but don’t see errors in that log. Could you share what rules did you have to modify on the firewall please?

Thanks much - will have a look
@Coleman Kelly did you also have to exclude them from ssl inspection?

I don't have access to the firewalls but I didn't make that request so imagine no.
