After rebuilding a vCenter, we add in Citrix Studio a new connection to it (due to it being a new vCenter, new cert, etc.) but when adding resources, the old connection sees all the resources while the new one only sees one. Local storage. Why?
j
You to move all the existing resources to the new vcenter hosting info. Just did this yesterday for a client. https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX140486/how-to-migrate-machines-from-existing-host-connection-to-new-host-connection-in-xendesktop

But the vCenter is basically the same except for the certificate. The IP, etc
j
Those are the items that Studio uses to identify vcenter. So to studio it is totally new.

Testing the connection and the resource of the one that works, gives OK
j
Are you able to add additional storage from the hosting wizard?
b
No, nothing else shows up

The UID changes if you rebuild vCenter. It doesn’t matter if the name or IP is the same. The UID here is what actually changed. So it’s new to studio. If you can’t see storage, then you need to check the service account you’re using to connect(studio) to vCenter. But it doesn’t sound like that’s the issue here. That account will hit the API and use VCenter permissions to pull in the storage information from the host. But aside from that when you added the host connection, in the storage section did you select share storage or local? There are options in the section from, when you set it up. I have no idea what you selected . But this is a basic routine setup and it’s easy to accidentally select something else. I would double check everything. Something isn’t setup right here and you need to go back and ensure you did this right. Can’t see the screen shot either
